Contestants must submit an electronic copy of their resumé to the LMS LMS by April 22, by 5:00pm. A Written Test will be in the LMS LMS and the deadline for completion is April 22, by 5:00pm. Clothing Requirements: avoid a clothing penalty White scrubs, as shown NO personal name/school ID on clothing Hair must be off face and collar NO heavy perfume/makeup/cologne Nails short and clean NO nail polish, gels or tips White stockings / socks NO gum chewing White Lab coat (optional) NO jewelry except watch with second hand Clean all-white leather shoes (No canvas) NO open toes or open back shoes Athletic style shoes are acceptable, must meet criteria NO cell phones or SmartWatches allowed Tool Requirements: Contestants must submit online a one-page type-written resume, failure to do so will result in a 50-point penalty Small notebook Watch with second hand Medical Grade 3-ply Face Mask 2 pens - blue or black ink Safety glasses Stethescope Blood Pressure Unit (Aneroid sphygmomanometer with adult cuff) STUDENTS SHOULD BE TRAINED IN BOTH CPR AND FIRST AID, BUT DO NOT NEED CERTIFICATION CARDS FOR STATE CONTEST. THEY WILL NEED TO SHOW CPR CARDS AT THE NATIONAL CONTEST. National Skills: Students competing in the nurse assisting contest are required to demonstrate knowledge and skill in performing patient care procedures represen- tative of the general areas of competence required in nurse assisting, including CPR. All procedures must be performed using safety precautions and correct body mechanics. . All skills demonstrated will be based on nationally accepted accreditation and certification standards recognized by the American Medical Association Contestants, as part of the demonstration, should voluntarily express pertinent information. Examples may include the ability to use and identify equipment; manipulate medical materials in the taking vital signs, height, weight.
