Contestants must submit an electronic copy of their resumé to the LMS LMS by April 22, by 5:00pm. Clothing Requirements: avoid a clothing penalty Work pants, as shown Work Shoes or Boots Safety Glasses SkillsUSA Massachusetts T-Shirt, provided Hard Hat NO cell phones or SmartWatches allowed Tool Requirements: Contestants must submit online a one-page type-written resume, failure to do so will result in a 50-point penalty NOTE: IF THE CONTESTANT DOES NOT HAVE TOOLS THEY WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. Tone Generator and probe p. 6 inch tie wraps State Skills: The purpose is to evaluate each contestants preparation for employment, to recognize outstanding students for excellence, and professionalism in the field of Information technology. The contest includes a written knowledge exam to assess knowledge of structured cabling. Questions from the written evaluation will be taken from the following general telecommunications cabling topic areas and are verbalized in the attached compe- tencies: cable pulling, copper media (UTP cabling), grounding and bonding, horizontal cabling, installation of support structures, plans (blueprint and drawing), safety practices, splicing, standards and codes, telecommunications cabling systems, testing UTP cabling, transmission theory and troubleshooting. Skill Performance: The purpose of the hands-on component of the contest will be to evaluate the ability to install, terminate and manage telecommunications cabling.
