Sculptured Pink and White Nails Application, 60 minutes for 225 possible points Acrylic Application: product control, clarity/no bubbles, smile line, c-curve, arch, thinness and continuity Finished Appearance: Smoothness, shape & length consistent finger to finger and proportionate to hand, high-gloss shine and cuticle involvement 4. Perform foot care in a nail care situation on one foot, 30 minutes for 100 possible points Perform a basic pedicure on one foot A. Demonstrate proper steps for a basic pedicure B. Demonstrate knowledge of a safe and sanitary pedicure procedure. 5. Nail Art Application, 30 minutes for 200 possible points The contestant will complete wearable nail art on nails. Contestant will have prepared the model’s nails in the first two required contests. (One hand will have a complete set of sculptured nails. One hand will have a complete set of tips with gel overlay.) Students must submit a digital a short summary describing in detail their nail art theme in PDF format to the LMS on or before the posted LMS on or before the posted deadline deadline. This written description is limited to one page that is typewritten in a legible font. No exceptions; missing description submissions will result in a 25-point deduction in the Nail Art Application section. Nail art will be done on one hand only. Medium choices to complete the flat nail art application are as follows: acrylic paint, polish/lacquer, colored powders (acrylic & dip), gel polish, rhinestones size 20ss and under, glitter and dusts, and adhesives. Note: No pre-prepared items can be used; items are limited to those intended for use on nails. Topcoat may be used as a sealer. The Following will be evaluated: Creativity: theme, follow through of theme, artist expression and color coordination Level of Difficulty: complexity of design, use of mediums Precision: neatness and clarity of lines 6. Overall Results of Workmanship, 50 possible points Execution of skill, precision and professionalism throughout the contest Cleanliness and organization of the working environment Sanitation and safety procedures throughout the contest 7. Mock Consultation, 5-10 minutes for 100 possible points During the competition, all contestants will participate in a mock consultation. This consultation will take place with the Event Manager and must cover the following points: a. Client Name b. Client lifestyle & preference for nail length/shape/style ect. c. Allergies & Medical concerns d. Recommended natural nail care services e. Results the client should expect f. Home care products the client would need to purchase to obtain results Observers: Observers will be allowed to view the students during the competition from the designated area only. Any infraction will result in contestant disqualification. Talking or gesturing by the observers may result in contestant disqualification. Observers will not be permitted to communicate with contestants in the holding/assembly area. Talking to judges will not be permitted. All communications are to be directed to the series director only and only at the end of the contest. Contestants are to stay until they are debriefed at the end. Any communication from observers will result in contestant disqualification. No prints or information will be allowed to leave with the student participants/school personnel.
