REVIEW STANDARDS Committee deliberations and confidential competition records, including score sheets and tabulation records, are restricted to authorized grievance review. The committee may consider the grievance form, applicable Technical Standards, official scores or tabulation, statements, authorized video or other official records, and relevant safety information. The committee determines whether a documented rule, procedure, scoring/tabulation process, or safety requirement was not followed and what corrective action, if any, is permitted. Safety, discrimination, harassment, or misconduct concerns may also be referred to the applicable member-safety or complaint process. DECISION & FINALITY Corrective action must be consistent with the Technical Standards, General Regulations, Massachusetts competition rules, and Board policy. A decision that would cancel a contest, materially affect national advancement, or raise a significant policy issue may be referred to the Executive Director and/or Board as required by the current competition guide or Board policy. The current competition guide identifies any appeal process and the final decision-maker. No person should participate in both the challenged decision and final appeal when avoidable, and personal appeals outside the published process are not permitted. IMPORTANT RECORDKEEPING The original grievance, attachments, supporting records, recusals, and decision should be retained with the official Championships records. Written notice of the outcome will be provided to the filing Chapter Advisor as promptly as practicable. This should replace essentially everything currently shown on pages 126–127 rather than trying to edit the old paragraphs individually.
